Procedure for Subdivision

Applicants are required to check the following prior to applying for subdivision:

  • Zoning Map - find the present zoning of your property; and standards for zone you are requesting;
  • Zoning Bylaw - find standards for that zone;
  • Subdivision & Development Servicing Bylaw - find standards for development of your lands;
  • Agricultural Land Reserve - ensure the land is outside the Land Reserve or that Approval has been granted for subdivision within the ALR.
  • Anyone wanted to subdivide is encouraged to talk with staff in the Planning and Development Services department before submitting a proposal. Staff can help applicants understand the details that must be included in the plan and what procedures must be followed.
