District of Peachland Zoning Bylaw No. 1375 was adopted by Council on May 7, 1996. Since that time there have been a number of amendments. The District Planning and Development Services Department with assistance from Urban Systems Ltd will be doing a review of the Zoning bylaw beginning in late 2012 and into 2013. As part of the review process the District is required to hold public meetings as part of the process. So please keep an eye on the newsletter that accompanies your utility bills, our website (www.peachland.ca) and the Peachland view for your opportunity to provide feedback to the District in relation to this project. Upon public consultation and review it is expected that a new updated Zoning Bylaw will be presented for Council approval sometime late in 2013.
A Zoning Bylaw governs land use including the form, siting, height, and density of all development within the District’s boundaries. This is done to provide for the orderly development of the community and to avoid conflicts between incompatible land uses within the community.
