2009 Regional Parks Guide Now Available
Take off…on a hike…or a walk…or explore your local history. No matter what your age or physical ability, there's something for you and your family this year in the new 2009 Regional Parks Guide.
You can pick up your copy of the colourful eight-page fold-out pamphlet at the Regional District of Central Okanagan office (1450 KLO Road), the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (the EECO 2363 Springfield Road) in Mission Creek Regional Park (Springfield and Durnin Roads) or at any municipal offices, recreation centres and tourist and visitor information offices in the Central Okanagan.
Communications Coordinator Bruce Smith says, "The guide is always as close as your computer. In fact, the 'Your Guide to Regional Parks' online version is one of our most visited documents available on the Regional District website www.regionaldistrict.com. Last year's guide registered more than 17,400 hits during 2008. It's always available whenever it's convenient to you."
The guide provides everything you'll need to take part in Regional Parks programs and special events this spring, summer and fall. There's something for everyone including guided walks and hikes, interpretive programs, a detailed map of our Regional Parks and facilities, and free programs at the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO).
Smith adds, "One of the first programs that might be of interest is our Spring Break Camps at the EECO. Registration is underway and you can find out more specific information regarding camp dates, times and age groups by contacting the staff at the EECO, either by dropping in, or by phone at 250-469-6140."
