Membership

The members of the Tourism and Economic Development Committee is a appointed by Council to represent the interests of the community. The TEDC is composed of two members from District of Peachland Council, one member from the Peachland Chamber of Commerce, one member from the Visitor's Centre Operator, and members from the community at large.

Shelley and her husband Steve have been full time residents since retiring in 2010 and moving to Peachland from Delta. Actively involved in the community as a member of the Lions Club, Arts Council, the Pier Society and most recently, the Recovery Task Force, she currently chairs the TEDC. Living in Peachland is a dream come true as she has been coming here since the early 60’s with family and has seen it grow exponentially. She is excited to see what the future has in store for our wonderful town.

Rick is a relative newcomer to Peachland having moved here in 2016, although he knew he was moving here since becoming a landowner in 2010. He spent most of his career as a software entrepreneur but has dedicated his time in recent years to being a Climate Change Mitigation Advocate. As well as being on TEDC, Rick is also on the Mayor’s Task Force on Climate Change and is a Director at the Peachland Wellness Centre.

Lynne moved to Peachland in 1987 and has enjoyed Peachland, its citizens and all the visitors we host throughout the year. She has always been interested in Peachland's tourism industry, what is currently offered for visitors to see, explore and experience, and enjoys working with groups to improve what is already offered. She is a Director on the Peachland Community Arts Council and Peachland Lions Club, She is also a member of the Tourism and Economic Development Committee and the Peachland Recovery Task Force.

Pam moved to Peachland in 2001 with her husband and daughter from the Lower mainland. She fell in love with the community right away and volunteered whenever needed and taught kickboxing. As the years went on, she volunteered with with various organizations including youth baseball and the farmers market, to name a few. Taking on the World of Wheels and running for council seemed the logical steps for her. Pam loves this town and is honoured to be a part of the TEDC; she looks forward to being helpful and supportive, with its future endeavours.

Madeleine is a 5 year resident of Peachland who believes in tourism and giving back to our Community. She is also amember of the Peachland Rotary Club. Peachland is the “heart of the Okanagan” and as a Community Volunteer, Madeleine believes Tourism and Economic Development are integral for a thriving, vibrant town.

Peter moved to Peachland in 1998 when he built his home here. He has had the opportunity to serve on Peachland District Council for a total of ten years and continues to promote development. He advocates that a community needs progress as "without progression, there is regression; there is NO status quo.”
