Swim Bay Lifeguard Schedule

Peachland, B.C. – The Lifeguards are back at Swim Bay in Peachland with new hours of operation. This year, the schedule has changed slightly due to limited staff, but the move means more hours on the weekend to enjoy the best beach park in the Okanagan!

Peachland’s Swim Bay is the only lifeguarded public park on Okanagan Lake. When the lifeguards are on duty, the entire park at 6th Street and Beach Avenue, is open for fun and includes a zipline, rope swings and a high diving board. When there is no guard on duty, the zipline and diving board are closed.

The Swim Bay Lifeguard Schedule is:

  • Monday, Thursday, Friday - 12:30 to 5:30 pm
  • Saturday, Sunday - 10 am to 5:30 pm

On weekday mornings, Lifeguards, who are also swim instructors, teach swim lessons in swim bay, the only public swim lessons on Okanagan Lake. There is still room for additional registrants; visit www.peachland.ca/swim-bay.

The five-day a week schedule means no lifeguard will be present on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this summer, but the adjusted schedule means that on Saturday and Sunday the lifeguarded-beach will be open earlier at 10 am instead of 12:30 pm.

Lifejackets are provided for use at the park for free every day; please return them to the rack when you are done using them.

Parents and caregivers are reminded not to leave children unattended at the lifeguarded beach. Summer programming for kids is available at the BGC Okanagan across the street from Swim Bay. Call 250-768-3049 for more information.
