Downtown Revitalization Task Force

Downtown Revitalization & Implementation Strategy (DRIS) Task Force

During its November 14, 2023 meeting, Council formally established the Downtown Revitalization Task Force to help guide the development of the Peachland Downtown Revitalization Implementation Strategy (DRIS). Commencing in February 2024, this Task Force is designed to function as a short-term advisory group whose primary role is to offer guidance to both Council and staff in the formulation of the DRIS. The DRIS is anticipated to outline the vision, goals and objectives for downtown Peachland, emphasizing aspects such as downtown form and character, land use and the regulatory framework essential for guiding growth and development. Completion of the DRIS is targeted for September 30, 2024.

Members of this project-specific Task Force will meet approximately six times beginning in February 2024. The composition of the Task Force includes:

  • Mayor and two members of Council,
  • one recreation and culture representative,
  • one Peachland Chamber of Commerce representative,
  • three downtown landowners or business owners,
  • five Peachland residents, and
  • one District staff in a non-voting role.
