Delegation – Lee Etherington & Bruce Klippenstein
Mr. Etherington and Mr. Klippenstein spoke to Council about their proposal to create and build a large wooden carving of the Ogopogo / N’ha-a-itk in Peachland. They will manage all aspects of fundraising and material sourcing, with the only request being the donation of a site for installation by the District. Council directed the delegation to consult with Administration, who will return with recommendations at the next Regular Council Meeting.

Peachland Climate Sustainability and Resiliency Task Force Report
Council modified the Peachland Climate Sustainability and Resiliency Task Force Terms of Reference to:

  • Allow for the Action Plan to be divided into two (2) plans, one for sustainability and one for resiliency;
  • Permit the Task Force to apply for grants on behalf of the District of Peachland;
  • Permit the Task Force to approach neighbouring municipalities and First Nations about a possible regional application; and
  • Permit the Task Force to contact the provincial government and private landowners as necessary for grant applications.

Budget Request – Communications
Council approved a request from Administration to increase the operating budget by $16,500 for funds to print and mail a monthly newsletter and to conduct a citizen survey.

  • Downtown Revitalization & Implementation Strategy Task Force – Monday, February 26 beginning at 6 pm.
  • Peachland Climate Sustainability & Resiliency Task Force – Wednesday, February 28 beginning at 3:00 pm.
  • Accessibility Advisory Committee – Thursday, February 15 beginning at 5 pm.
