Water Shut Off - Buchanan Rd

WATER SHUT OFF - BUCHANAN ROAD WATER TIE IN

Update July 17, 2024

Water Service has resumed for Buchannan Road area properties. A Boil Water Notice is in effect until water sampling indicates the service has returned to normal. Area residents will be notified when the notice is rescinded.

Water Service will be now be shut off on TUESDAY, JULY 16, 2024, 9 AM to 4 PM for the below listed properties.

Water Service will be shut off on WEDNESDAY JULY 10, 2024, 9 AM to 4 PM to several properties on Eyre Road, Buchanan Road, Fulton Place, Tailyour Lane and a portion of Beach Avenue. Bennett Contracting Ltd. will be working on Buchanan Road doing a water tie in. All water will be shut off the following properties during the above noted time period:
  • Eyre Road - 5346, 5342, 5336, 5331, 5327 and 5320
  • Buchanan Road - 5244, 5247, 5251, 5254, 5255, 5261, 5265, 5270, 5271, 2-5271, 5275, 5286, 5294, 5300, 5308, 2-5308, 5331, 5346, 5349, 5350, 5356, 5357, 5360, 5363, 5366, 5367, 5369, 5370, 5371, 5373, 5375, 5379, 5379-2, 5385, and 5387
  • Fulton Place - 5305, 2-5305, 5307, 5312, 5314, 5316 and 5318
  • Tailyour Lane - 5284 and 5285
  • Beach Avenue - 3701, 3702, 3704, 3822, 3830, 3842, 3842, 3854, 3856, 3858, 3860, 3862, 3852 and 3838 Beach Avenue

To minimize the inconvenience during the disturbance, we recommend that you take the following precautions:
  • Store an adeq1uate supply of water for drinking, cooking, household needs, and sanitation purposes.
  • Ensure that faucets are turned off to prevent any damage once water service is restored.
  • Plan ahead for any activities that may require water, such as bathing or laundry.

PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE

A PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER notice will be in place until two negative bacteriological water samples taken 24 hours apart are returned. Following the consecutive negative sample results, confirmation of the BWN being rescinded includes removal of the notification signage to the neighborhood as well as confirmation on the District of Peachland's website www.peachland.ca.

During the boil water notice, the public is advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using for drinking, making ice, cooking, washing or brushing teeth.
