DOG PARK MULTI-YEAR STRATEGY

In the spring of 2012, Council received a request from the public to consider a dog park in Peachland. In follow up to the request, staff did some preliminary research, then Council directed staff to form a Dog Park Advisory Committee. The committee reviewed policies and practices in other communities, visited dog parks and conducted a survey of Peachland dog owners. In the fall of 2013, the committee proposed a multi-year strategy to develop dog parks in Peachland. Additionally, in 2018, Council passed a resolution allowing dogs on leash on all beaches except designated swim beaches (as delineated by in the water by swim buoys and the sidewalk).

The acquisition of Turner Park will result in a public consultation process and may consider the future addition of a dog park at this site.
