Peachland Council intends to adopt Peachland Water Treatment Plant and Interconnect Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2208, 2017.
The purpose of the bylaw is to borrow an amount not to exceed $9,285,456.00 to finance the cost of Peachland Water Treatment Plant and Trepanier Creek Water System Interconnect, to provide treated water through a conventional water treatment process within the boundaries of the District of Peachland. The borrowed amount will be repaid over a period not to exceed 25 years. It is expected that the current $350. Water Improvement Parcel Tax will not increase as a result of the borrowing.

Additional Information About Elector Eligibility. In order to have signed an elector response form in relation to the alternative approval process, a person must have been either a resident elector or non-resident property elector. To have an Elector Response Form qualify, you MUST have met the requirements. If you are unsure if you qualified, please contact The District of Peachland Corporate Services 250-767-2647.
Resident Elector – You were entitled to submit an Elector Response Form as a resident elector if you are age 18 or older on the day of submission, are a Canadian Citizen, have lived in BC for at least six months immediately prior to signing the Elector Response Form, and have been a resident of the District of Peachland for the past 20 days or more prior to signing the Elector Response Form.
Non-Residential Elector – You were are entitled to submit an Elector Response Form as a non-resident property elector if you are age 18 or older on the day of submission, are a Canadian Citizen, have lived in BC for at least six months immediately prior to signing the Elector Response Form, have owned and held registered title to a property in the District of Peachland for the past 30 days or more prior to signing the Elector Response Form, and do not qualify as a resident elector.
Note: Only one non-resident property elector may sign an elector response form per property, regardless of how many people own the property; and, that owner must have the written consent of a majority of the other property owner(s) to sign the response form on their behalf. Property owned in whole or in part by a corporation does not qualify under the non-resident property elector provisions.
