Centennial Way

CENTENNIAL WAY

Location: Heritage Park (1st Street) to 13th Street

Centennial Way offers a 13 block continuous waterfront walkway. The pathway from 5th Street to 13th Street along Okanagan Lake is 3 meters wide and is a smooth continuous surface. A 2 meter "green belt" of native, low water-use plants offers a pleasant and safe border and acts as a "bio filter" protecting the lake from road runoff. Traffic calming and painted bike lanes help guide all users sharing the road. Benches, bollards and street trees provide energy efficient lighting. The path was named "Centennial Way" in honour of Peachland's 100 year anniversary: 1909 - 2009. Costs were covered by Federal and Provincial grants and the development community, at no cost to Peachland taxpayers.
