UPDATED MAY 29: A Precautionary Boil Water Notice is in place for all of Peachland due to a watermain break which has been repaired. The District awaits water sampling analysis before it can rescind the notice. Keep informed: www.peachland.ca/subscribe.
Due to a recently discovered water line leak, there will be a full road closure of Turner Avenue between the intersections of Princeton Avenue and Gillam Crescent to allow crews safe access for investigation and repair starting at approximately 12:00 Noon today. The length of the closure will be determined once further investigation has taken place. The closure locations are noted with red lines in the photo below. The areas normally accessed through this roadway are still accessible via the lower routes (Ellison, Minto, Somerset, etc).
Peachlanders may hear some noisemakers (they sound like small fireworks) on Beach Avenue over the next few days as we scare away some Canadian Geese. A variety of techniques are used to manage the goose population in Peachland including scarecrows, reflective tape, irritant laser and distasteful liquids in grassy areas.
Peachland Council will consider a Zoning Bylaw amendment to enact small-scale, multi-unit housing (SSMUH) residential zoning at its meeting June 11. The move is to meet new Provincial planning requirements. Get more information here.
The rain washed debris onto roads throughout Peachland. Crews are cleaning today and we'll be bringing in traffic control personnel tomorrow. There may be minor delays for motorists. Please slow down when driving by our crews for their safety.
