Oct 16, 2020 Installation of a watermain under Trepanier Creek will take place this Sunday, Oct 18, 2020. The location of the works is behind the elementary school beside Trepanier Creek.
One of the most important tasks in the Trepanier Interconnect project is the installation of the water main underneath Trepanier Creek. to complete with a minimum of environmental ipact, this will be done by "tunneling" a sleeve under the creek to carry the water main piping, preventing an open cut through the creek bed and riparian area. Theh work will be carried out by a specialized contractor from Kamloops. They will be working through the weekend of Oct 16-18 to maintain the set schedule. The tight timeline will require a slightly earlier morning on Sunday, Oct 18 where they will be starting at 7:00 a.m. instead of the usually permitted 10:00 a.m. This early Sunday start has been discussed and permitted through the Bylaw Enforcement and Operations Departments. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please call the Public Works office at 250-767-2108.
