WildSafeBC Program

WildSafeBC Program

Meg Bjordal is the WildSafeBC Community Coordinator for the Okanagan Westside, and her goal is ‘‘to keep wildlife wild and communities safe’. Meg will be working in the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, and the Regional District of the Central Okanagan to reduce the human- wildlife conflict through education, innovation and cooperation.

Meg will be involved in a number of public outreach activities, including door-to-door visits in problem areas. You will see her at events around town as she spreads the word about safely living with bears and other critters in our wooded areas. Find out more about preventing unwelcome encounters with wildlife at WildSafeBC

Wildlife conflicts should be reported to the Conservation Officer Service at 1-877-952-7277. Residents are also encouraged to report bear, deer, cougar or other animal sightings online at WildSafeBC’s Wildlife Alert Reporting Program (WARP), available at WARP. This program allows you to see what wildlife has been reported in your neighbourhood and be alerted of new sightings.
