Peachland Fire Rescue Service (PFRS) is currently recruiting Paid-on-Call Firefighters. PFRS provides fire suppression, rescue, medical first response, public education, and emergency response services to the Peachland community. Our members respond to a wide range of incidents, train regularly, and work together to protect the safety and well-being of residents and visitors.
Firefighting is challenging, rewarding, and requires commitment, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. No previous firefighting experience is required. Successful applicants will receive training, mentorship, and the equipment needed to perform the role safely and effectively.
Fire Department Training
PFRS members train regularly, with weekly practices held on Monday evenings and several specialized training sessions offered throughout the year.
As a participant in the regional Mutual Aid Agreement, PFRS may support neighbouring communities, including during the summer wildfire season.
The department also supports the BC Ambulance Service through medical first response, and most members are trained to First Responder Level III.
