Important Information for Residents and Visitors

Alert: Areas of Peachland remain on Evacuation Alert due to the Bald Range Wildfire which is classified by BC Wildfire as Out of Control. Although emergency responders continue to make progress on containing the fire, residents and visitors should remain cautious and be prepared.

  • Stay Informed:
  • Be ready to leave:
    • Pre-register with Emergency Support Services
    • Make an emergency plan, pack a grab-and-go kit and identify a meeting place outside the evacuation area.
  • Prepare your property
    • Clear the yard: Move firewood, propane tanks and patio furniture away from your house. Consider other FireSmart principles for your property at www.firesmartbc.ca.

Boaters: Stay well clear of wildfire aircraft operating on and around Okanagan Lake. If firefighter aircraft are working on the lake, move out of the area immediately and remain close to shore until operations have passed.

Water Conservation: Peachland residents are reminded the District is on Stage 3 water restrictions. Please conserve outdoor water use to ensure adequate resources. Find more information at Conserving Water | District of Peachland.

Fire Ban/Off-Road ban: A campfire ban is in effect in the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. On August 10, the Province of BC implemented a temporary recreational off-road vehicle band on provincial Crown land in the Kamloops Fire Centre.
