Peachland’s Canada Day Celebrations July 1

Road closures, boat launch impacts and family fun planned

Get ready to celebrate Canada Day in Peachland! Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to gather along Beach Avenue on Wednesday, July 1 for a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, great food, and one of the Okanagan's most spectacular fireworks displays.

The festivities begin with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Peachland 50+ Activity Centre from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at 5672 Beach Avenue. Throughout the day, Heritage Park will come alive with free concerts, children's activities, food vendors, and community celebrations for all ages.

One of the highlights of the day is the annual Canada Day Parade, which begins at 4:30 p.m. The parade route travels along Beach Avenue from 13th Street to Heritage Park and is expected to feature a large number of participants, colourful floats, and community groups.

To accommodate the parade, Beach Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic from 13th Street to 1st Street between 3:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

This year, the District will also close the T Dock/Doggy Beach south boat launch area for the day to accommodate parade staging, event activities, and fireworks preparations. The area will reopen at 7:00 p.m. Residents and visitors planning to launch a boat or visit a dog beach are encouraged to use alternate locations.

The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks show over Okanagan Lake at 10:00 p.m. Weather permitting, fireworks will be launched from a barge by certified professionals, with enhanced fire safety measures in place.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, plan ahead, and enjoy a full day of community spirit, entertainment, and celebration on Peachland's beautiful waterfront.
