Residents urged to stay informed and be prepared
The District of Peachland continues to support the regional emergency response to the Bald Range Wildfire, which started Friday, August 7 and has resulted in Evacuation Orders in parts of Peachland and Evacuation Alerts in other areas.
Municipal Hall will remain open to the public. However, a number of municipal services and facilities have been impacted as the District supports the ongoing emergency response.
SERVICE AND FACILITY UPDATES
- Summer Series Concert: The concert scheduled for Thursday, August 13 in Heritage Park has been cancelled.
- Recreation Programs: All recreation programs are cancelled until further notice.
- Swim Bay: There are no lifeguards at Swim Bay until further notice. Residents and visitors should use caution and supervise children closely.
- Peachland Community Centre: The fitness room will remain accessible Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, during regular building operating hours.
- Beach Avenue Boat Launch: Closed until further notice.
- Princeton Avenue Boat Launch: Closed until further notice.
- Garbage collection: Garbage collection service will continue, although collection may be missed in areas under an Evacuation Order due to limited access.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
Boaters: Stay well clear of wildfire aircraft operating on and around Okanagan Lake. If firefighter aircraft are working on the lake, move out of the area immediately and remain close to shore until operations have passed.
Evacuees staying temporarily in Peachland: The Peachland Community Centre is available during operating hours, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with shower and washroom facilities, drinking water and a cooling area.
Beach Avenue campers: Campers using municipal electrical service are asked to limit use to essential needs. Please do not use municipal power to run air conditioning or other high-demand equipment, as this can place significant strain on the District's electrical system and may contribute to outages.
Water Conservation: Peachland residents are reminded the District is on Stage 3 water restrictions. Please conserve outdoor water use to ensure adequate resources. Find more information at www.peachland.ca/water/conserving-water

Be ready to leave
- Pre-register with Emergency Support Services at www.ess.gov.bc.ca. Please be patient; increased demand may slow this service.
- Make an emergency plan and identify a meeting place outside the evacuation area.
- Arrange transportation for all household members and keep vehicle fuel tanks filled.
- Make arrangements for pets and livestock.
- Plan to assist children, seniors, people with disabilities and neighbours who may need help.
- Have accommodation options available if you need to leave your home.
- Pack a grab-and-go kit - Include government-issued identification, medications, eyeglasses, important documents, immediate care needs and other essential items.
- If on Evacuation Alert, prepare you vehicle(s) – park pointing out, keep your tank full, pre-pack what you can.
