Background
When choosing where to live at this stage in his life, Ali Bani-Sadr intentionally chose Peachland—a place known for its beauty, spirit, and strong sense of belonging.
Born and raised in Paris, France, Ali is a son, father, and grandfather. His values were shaped through family and through his years working in the family business. From his education in Automotive Studies, he worked from 1988 to 2005 to run the Jeep dealership in North Vancouver, building a reputation for integrity, customer care, and hands-on leadership. He used his skills working with Audi and Volkswagen in North Vancouver for over 17 years. As a lifelong car enthusiast, he understands people, business operations, budgeting, and the importance of building trust within a community.
Giving back has always been central to Ali’s life. As a passionate soccer lover, he spent 10 years coaching youth soccer on the North Shore, creating environments where children could develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, and fitness. He currently volunteers coaching soccer to Minis and Youths in Peachland. For Ali, coaching isn’t just about sport—it is about giving young people a place to belong and thrive.
Ali is a co-founder of the Peachland Youth Activity Grant. A program designed to assist families with activity costs so no child in Peachland misses out.
Ali has served on the board of the Peachland Wellness Centre, an essential community hub that supports seniors, reduces isolation, and strengthens social connectedness. He understands the importance of keeping accessible programs and community services strong.
His love for cars extends to his involvement with the Annual Peachland Classic Car Show, where he works in leadership to help organize and support one of Peachland’s most beloved local events. His technical skills also make him the go-to “local IT guy,” always helping neighbours navigate their computers, phones, and devices with patience and kindness.
Ali believes in inclusivity, culture, diversity, and respect. He is known as a mentor, a friend, and a steady presence who leads with honesty, calm strength, and genuine care. His leadership style reflects empowerment, harmony, and real-world experience.

Background
Councillor Alena Glasman has been involved in industry, community, and personal advocacy for her entire adult life. She is known as a strong voice.
With a background in Entrepreneurial Development, Growth and Stability, she has continued to support entrepreneurs by aiding business start ups across Canada. For 18 years, she has owned a Fitness Studio and currently serves on the Board of Directors for PFIC Canada as Chair Director. In 2014 she was nominated and awarded the honor of Canadian Top Female Entrepreneur for creating a new Canadian Industry that continues to grow today.
Her first encounter with our beautiful lake town was in 1994 on her first vacation, at the infamous Todd’s Campground. Upon the end of that trip she vowed to be back one day. In 2020, she chose Peachland to be her home when her husband (Todd) was transferred to Kelowna from Calgary. In 3 short years, she has become involved in many civic and community events with the intent to enhance the quality of life in our community.
As a wife, mother of 2, grandmother or 4, and fur parent of 2, it only made sense to gravitate to a beautiful quaint small town to retire…but instead she decided to run for council to speak up and make a difference for those who live in it. She is honored and proud to serve Peachland and its residents as Councillor.
