PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER UPDATE - January 20, 2022The BC Public Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, has announced a lifting of COVID-19 restrictions relating to gyms, fitness centers, and fitness programs. As such, Peachland Recreation will resume all our individual and group fitness programs on Monday, January 24 and re-open the Fitness Room January 21.
Members are asked to stop by our front office upon their first visit so we can reprogram your key FOB and extend your membership for the missed time.
In order to re-open our Fitness Room, we must adhere to current COVID-19 safety protocols such as:
- Adequate spacing between equipment
- Occupancy limits - Maximum of 6 people in the trailer and 3 people on the stage. If you arrive at the Fitness Room and find that it is at capacity, you are required to leave and return when there is space.
- Proof of vaccination - Required for new members prior to your first visit.
- Monday - Thursday

Effective Sep 13, 2021, some of the fitness equipment was returned to the trailer. The trailer now contains all cardio equipment, universal cable machine, 1 bench, some dumbbells and pull-up bar. The squat rack & bars, 2 benches, some dumbbells, kettlebells, plyo boxes, medicine balls and 1 spin bike remain on the Community Centre stage.

Custodial staff will do a full sanitization of the fitness room and equipment after each day. Recreation staff will also sanitize equipment once daily. Fitness participants must sanitize their equipment before and after use using the provided spray and paper towel.
All participants will be required to wash their hands with soap and water or use the provided hand sanitizer before entering the fitness room. Hand sanitizer will be provided in the fitness room for use during your workout.
Masks are required while in transit (i.e., between stations and in common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and washrooms), however masks are not required while actively working out.
DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE SICK
Anyone who has experienced symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 10 days is prohibited from attending the workplace. Symptoms include fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and new muscle aches or headache.
