REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

 

Party Wall and Small Lot Subdivision Zoning

Council provided input into a Zoning Bylaw Amendment intended to re-establish the underlying zoning for party wall subdivisions in Peachland’s R1 Zone (Low Density Residential) and RM2 Zone (Multi unit Infill Residential). Council gave first three readings to the bylaw which will be scheduled for adoption following approval from the Ministry of Transportation and Transit. Council further endorsed a new R2 Zone (Small Lot Residential), a proposed draft zone intended to facilitate smaller residential lot subdivision.

 

Two New Pickleball Courts in Lambly Park

Mayor Patrick Van Minsel announced that the Request for Proposal process recently undertaken for the building of two new pickleball courts in Lambly Park was successful with the response indicating the project could proceed within budget. Construction of two courts will begin this spring adjacent to the two current pickleball courts. The Peachland Pickleball Society will contribute to the project with soundproofing installations to minimize impacts to adjacent property owners.
