Swearing in of Councillor Bani-Sadr
Newly-elected Ali Bani-Sadr, the successful candidate in the March 14 by-election, was sworn in and joined the meeting at the Council table.
San Clemente Avenue Road Closure
Council adopted the Road Closure and Removal of Highway Dedication Bylaw No. 2447 to close a portion of San Clemente Avenue and consolidate it with three District-owned properties to support the future Peachland Fire Hall. The closure will eliminate the San Clemente Avenue-13th Street intersection adjacent to Highway 97. Development of the Fire Hall will still require amendments to the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw.
Party Wall and Small Lot Subdivision Zoning
Council adopted a Zoning Bylaw Amendment to re-establish the underlying zoning for party wall subdivisions in Peachland’s R1 Zone (Low Density Residential) and RM2 Zone (Multi-unit Infill Residential), as discussed at its meeting on March 10.
