The fire danger rating around Peachland has increased to EXTREME. With ongoing drought conditions, forests and grasslands surrounding the community are exceptionally dry, and any new fire has the potential to spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
The District of Peachland is asking all residents and visitors to use extreme caution while enjoying local parks, trails, and natural areas. Everyone has a role to play in preventing wildfires.
PLEASE REMEMBER:
- Properly extinguish and dispose of all smoking materials.
- Avoid activities that could create sparks or ignite dry vegetation.
- Fireworks are prohibited.
- Campfires remain banned throughout the Central Okanagan.
