Due to popular demand and just in time for Canada Day, Peachland’s Heritage Spray Park will operate for limited hours this summer, providing families with a fun way to cool off and have fun!
The Spray Park in Peachland’s Heritage Park on Beach Avenue and 1st Street has been closed due to ongoing drought conditions, with Peachland water users on Level 3 water restrictions since April. To compensate for the operation of the Spray Park, several conservation measures will be undertaken during the summer, including:
- reducing water pressure at the spray park
- limiting daily operating hours to the warmest part of the afternoon, and
- reducing irrigation frequency at Lambley Park.
The Heritage Spray Park will operate on Wednesday, July 1 from 11am to 8 pm and the adjusted hours beginning Thursday, July 2 are daily from 1 pm to 5 pm.
These efforts will let residents and visitors enjoy the Heritage Spray Park while helping the Peachland community conserve its water supply.
Heritage Park also features a playground, nearby washroom facilities, the Ray Kandola Heritage Pier and the Rotary Centennial Pavillion. The park is adjacent to the Day Use Wharf where boaters can moor and access Peachland’s downtown.
Further along Beach Avenue, at 6th street, is Swim Bay, Peachland’s most popular waterpark and an excellent beachfront for the whole family to enjoy. It features a zipline, diving board, rope swing, aquatic wheelchair, wheelchair ramp with mobi-mat, concession, and washroom pavilion. Lifeguards are on duty every day from 10 am to 5:30 pm, with swim lessons running from 10 am to 12:30 pm – check out the swim lesson schedule in the recreation guide. While lifeguards are on duty, lifejackets are available at life jacket stations.
