Pooch on leash can visit Knoblauch, Morrison and
Chevalier Neighbourhood Parks
Peachland, B.C. – Great news for our four-legged friends and their owners! Peachland Council agreed to launch a pilot project allowing dogs-on-leash in three neighbourhood parks, Knoblauch, Morrison and Chevalier Parks, except in playground areas.
The project was prompted by discussions with members of the public interested in allowing dogs-on-leash in neighbourhood parks. These parks are typically not as busy as community parks and would provide more areas for dog owners to exercise their dogs in the community.
The District’s bylaw allows on-leash dogs in Lambly Park and off-leash in Sanderson, Pincushion and MacKinnon Parks as well as the Doggie Beach. Signage will be installed indicating the rules for on-leash dogs in the neighbourhood parks, including about avoiding the playgrounds.
