Effective Monday, April 13
The Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT) will temporarily close the intersection of Highway 97, Trepanier Bench and Desert Pines Avenue Intersection and installing a detour route beginning Monday, April 13.
All traffic will be detoured via Huston Road to access Highway 97. The intersection is expected to be reopened by Sunday, April 19. Motorists are asked to watch for traffic personnel and follow all signage to help ensure a safe environment for the public and construction crews.
This MOTT project is expected to improve safety at this busy intersection when complete later this spring. Trepanier Bench Road will become the main point of access to the highway. A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection. The change is expected to limit delays for highway traffic caused by motorists waiting to turn.
