Evening closure Thursday, no closure Friday,
day closure Saturday and Sunday, re-open Sunday at 7pm

Further closures this week are required for the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MOTT) to complete the intersection improvements at Highway 97, Trepanier Bench and Desert Pines Avenue. Closures have been timed to have the least impact on motorists.

The intersection will be closed on Thursday, April 23, from 7 pm to 6 am on Friday, April 24, and from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26.

The intersection will be reopened Sunday, April 26, before the beginning of the District’s pavement improvement project on Trepanier Bench Road. The timing of this project was planned to coincide with the MOTT work and the development-led Coldham Road improvements to complete the projects before the peak summer season.

Motorists are asked to watch for traffic personnel and follow all signage to help ensure a safe environment for the public and construction crews.

This MOTT project is expected to improve safety at this busy intersection when complete later this spring. Trepanier Bench Road will become the main point of access to the highway. A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection. The change is expected to limit delays for highway traffic caused by motorists waiting to turn.

Questions about the MOTT project can be directed to Twincon Enterprises at admin@twincon.ca.
